O objetivo do curso é proporcionar experiências de criação poética entre técnicas que operama circulação de processos e recursos vindosda poesia, desenho, colagem, assemblage,fotografia e vídeo, a partir da fruição e análisede obras e experimentos realizados por poetase artistas dedicados à relação palavra-imagem.

Artistas e designers do mundo todo enviaram seus cartazes para apoiar o projeto, em solidariedade às vítimas do terremoto no Haiti. É possivel visualizar os trabalhos de acordo com a técnica. Os cartazes foram realizados utilizando serigrafia, tipografia, impressão digital, offset, litogravura, xilogravura e técnica mista.

The Flight into Egypt

First Edition, published in 1995 by Chronicle Books as a facsimile of a unique manuscript book by Timothy C. Ely. Full color throughout. Includes Foreword by Terence McKenna, Introduction by Timothy C. Ely, and an interview of Ely by Steven Clay of Granary Books in New York City.

In his introduction, Ely reveals that his primary inspiration for the book came from a notebook of his grandfather’s that contained a fragmentary record of the latter’s trip to Egypt: ‘Between the two world wars, for some sixteen weeks, my grandfather had journeyed on a solo mission of undetermined logic to a land difficult to reach’. Puzzlingly, Ely writes, the notebook gave neither the exact year when the trip was made, nor its purpose. Over this background, Ely has superimposed his own perceptions of ancient Egypt, fused with his experiences as a book-maker: several of the book’s illustrations depict the book’s own creation as a physical object. The result is a rather impenetrable, yet richly resonant work: ‘I wanted to create a manual, a device which, like a mandala, would impart or reveal certain knowledge if meditated upon,’ Ely adds. São 10 sonetos, cada verso numa filipeta cortada. Pode-se combinar os versos da forma que quiser, de modo que, matematicamente, tem-se em mãos um livro com 100.000.000.000.000 de sonetos. No prólogo, Queneau diz que, lendo todas as possibilidades combinatórias entre os versos, 24 horas por dia pelos 365 dias do ano, levaríamos em torno de 190 milhões de anos para esgotar o livro. With his first independent publication for Nobrow Press, Blexbolex’s graphic novella Abecederia is an incendiary mix of intrigue, artwork and extremes. A play on the Greek practice of Abecedarium inscriptions, the story is illustrated one letter a time, incorporating A-Z onto the page in ever more ingenious ways.

For his comic, Blexbolex transports the municipal film-noir genre into the jungle clearings of Abecederia, where our protagonists, Leon and Bernard Blanchett, two French born gangsters hiding from an international warrant for arrest in central Africa, are fleeing the police after a far from perfect bank robbery.

A work that confounds with its twists and turns just as much at it impresses with its imagination, Abecederia explores themes such torture, totalitarianism, alienation and dehumanisation in a brutal world where no one is safe.

First published in Germany in 2007, Abecederia is sold out in both it German and French versions and is available exclusively from Nobrow Press.

Projeto dos fotógrafos Everton Ballardin e Marcelo Zócchio, as fotos foram realizadas com equipamento de grande formato (4 x 5 polegadas), em preto e branco. O resultado é um exercício estético que nunca chega a perder a graça em um pequeno livro (14 x 11) com 112 páginas (galeria de imagens no Uol)
