Julião Sarmento

Portugese artist Juliao Sarmento has Collected drawings, photographs, Polaroids, and newspaper clippings from nis visit to Kitakyushu, Japan. Sarmento has assembled these materials in a simple brown notebook with lined pages, using his assembled articles like pressings in a well-worn book.

Using the squared perspective as painting, photograph and video as mediums, Sarmento's works take multiple approaches to the notion of the point of view, to explore the relationship with the viewers and to dissolves and combines the image to be represented by the various ways of comprehension.
